How to Order and Set Up an SSL Certificate

An SSL certificate secures your website with HTTPS and shows visitors the padlock icon in their browser. TechInHost offers PositiveSSL, RapidSSL and EssentialSSL certificates, which you can order and manage directly from your client area.

Ordering an SSL certificate

Step 1: Go to Order a Service

Step 2: Choose your certificate

Pick from PositiveSSL, RapidSSL or EssentialSSL depending on the level of validation and warranty you need, then complete checkout.

Providing your certificate details

Once your order is placed, go to My Services and find your SSL certificate - it will show as Provide Details if it still needs information from you.

If your site is hosted with us

Select "Hosted with us" and we'll handle the technical setup automatically once the certificate is issued.

If your site is hosted elsewhere

Select "Hosted elsewhere" and paste in your CSR (Certificate Signing Request). Your other host or server admin can generate this for you if you don't already have one.

Viewing your issued certificate

Once the certificate authority has issued your certificate, you'll see the issued certificate and CA bundle on the same page in your client area, ready to copy into your server if it's hosted elsewhere.
