Connecting to Your Windows Cloud Server via RDP

On this page

RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) is how you connect to and manage a Windows Cloud Server with a full graphical desktop.

What you'll need

Your server's IP address and your administrator password, provided in your welcome email after your Cloud Server is provisioned.

Connecting from Windows

Open Remote Desktop Connection (search for it in the Start menu), enter your server's IP address, and click Connect. Enter your username (usually Administrator) and password when prompted.

Connecting from Mac

Install the free Microsoft Remote Desktop app from the Mac App Store, add a new PC with your server's IP address, and connect using your administrator credentials.

Connecting from a phone or tablet

Microsoft Remote Desktop is also available for iOS and Android, with the same setup process — add your server's IP address and sign in with your administrator credentials.
