Creating and Restoring Backups in cPanel
On this page
cPanel includes a built-in backup tool so you can download a copy of your site, or restore from a previous backup.
Creating a backup
Step 1: Open Backup
Log into cPanel and open Backup under the Files section.
Step 2: Choose what to back up
You can download a full account backup, or a partial backup of just your home directory, MySQL databases, email forwarders or email filters.
Step 3: Download
Click the relevant option and wait for the archive to be generated, then download it to keep somewhere safe.
Restoring a backup
Under the same Backup tool, use the restore options to upload a previously downloaded partial backup. For a full account restore, please contact our support team, since this needs to be handled on the server side.
Automatic backups
Your hosting plan may also include scheduled backups on our end. Contact support if you'd like to confirm what's included with your specific plan.
