Installing a Free Let's Encrypt SSL Certificate in cPanel

Every cPanel hosting account includes free SSL certificates from Let's Encrypt, issued automatically through AutoSSL.

How AutoSSL works

cPanel checks your domains periodically and automatically issues and renews a free SSL certificate for any domain that doesn't already have a paid certificate installed. In most cases, you don't need to do anything.

Running AutoSSL manually

Step 1: Open SSL/TLS Status

Log into cPanel and open SSL/TLS Status under the Security section.

Step 2: Select your domain and run AutoSSL

Select the domain(s) you want to secure and click Run AutoSSL. This issues and installs a certificate within a few minutes.

If you've purchased a certificate instead

If you've ordered a PositiveSSL, RapidSSL or EssentialSSL certificate through your client area and your site is hosted with us, we install it for you automatically once it's issued — no action needed in cPanel.
