Website Security Tools: Hotlink Protection, IP Blocker and Directory Privacy

cPanel includes several tools to help protect your website and its content.

Hotlink protection

Stops other websites from directly linking to your images or files, which wastes your bandwidth. Open Hotlink Protection under the Security section, enable it, and add the file types you want to protect.

IP Blocker

Blocks specific IP addresses from accessing your website entirely. Open IP Blocker, enter the IP address or range you want to block, and add it to the list.

Directory Privacy

Password-protects a specific folder so only people with the username and password you set can access it. Open Directory Privacy, navigate to the folder, enable password protection, and create a username and password.
